Visit Cu Chi Tunnels, Pay a visit at Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, The Reunification Palace and end tour by Ben Thanh market

Morning: Cu Chi Tunnels

  • At 8:30 AM, depart from your hotel or our office for a day tour starting with the Cu Chi Tunnels. This underground network, built over 25 years, served as a hidden city with living quarters, kitchens, hospitals, weapon factories, storage areas, and command centers. It was a crucial refuge for the Vietcong, allowing them to maneuver stealthily through the countryside and sheltering around 10,000 people underground for extended periods.
  • Before entering the tunnels, watch a brief introductory video detailing their construction. Spend the next hour navigating the tunnel network and viewing various traps, remnants of an American tank, and bomb craters created by 500-pound bombs from B52 bombers.
  • After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 2:00 PM.

Afternoon: Ho Chi Minh City Tour

  • Next, visit Notre Dame Cathedral, situated in the city center. Built by the French in the late 1870s, this is not only the oldest Christian church in Vietnam but also an impressive example of Saigon’s architecture.
  • Proceed to the General Post Office, designed by Gustav Eiffel. This grand building reflects French colonial influence from the late 1800s and resembles a sophisticated railway station.
  • Then, visit the Reunification Palace, formerly the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. On April 30, 1975, North Vietnamese soldiers entered the building with a red flag, signaling the end of the Vietnam War.
  • Finally, enjoy approximately two hours at Ben Thanh Market, one of the most vibrant areas in Ho Chi Minh City, known for its wide range of goods. Also, explore a lacquer workshop to see the intricate process and meticulous craftsmanship involved in traditional Vietnamese lacquerware.
  • Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
