Spanning more than 40 hectares, Tra Que produces 8 tons of vegetables annually. The farming practices here eschew pesticides and GMOs, using natural fertilizers like seaweed collected from the nearby river every morning.
Stroll through Tra Que Vegetable Village, interacting with local farmers as they work in the gardens. The walk will take you past expansive rice fields and tranquil countryside roads, away from the typical tourist paths. You'll witness the daily activities of village life in Hoi An.
Local farmers will share insights into cultivation methods, including techniques to protect vegetables from pests. You'll have the opportunity to participate in gardening tasks such as soil preparation, sowing, watering, transplanting, and nurturing the greens.
Continue cycling through paddy fields, Ba Le Market, and a kindergarten until reaching Van Lang Fisherman Village and Bay Mau Water Coconut Forest - an area of about 7 hectares surrounded by mangrove forests and canals. During the Vietnam War, this area served as a refuge for locals and soldiers, and today, it is renowned for its abundant seafood.
You'll receive a warm welcome at Mr. Han's, a family spanning three generations. Enjoy green tea and a guided tour of the village. Experience paddling a basket boat with skilled locals and learn about their traditional fishing techniques in the water coconut forest.
