Experience an unconventional "close-up" cycling adventure around Hoi An, discovering the true Vietnam well off the beaten path of the usual tourist itineraries. This tour invites you to explore lesser-known attractions that have maintained their charm and authenticity.
Each tour is limited in size to ensure maximum comfort, service, and quality. Rather than offering a standard tour, we organize custom-tailored excursions designed to suit your personal interests. We also personally accompany you on your cycling tour, answering all your questions so that you can discover and share our love for this marvelous country.
Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby, and then you will cycle around Hoi An towards the Tra Que vegetable village. About 150 farmers and 400 owners live there, cultivating around 20 types of vegetables and herbs such as mint, lettuce, basil, cilantro and broccoli. From more than 40 hectares of land, 8 tons of Tra Que vegetables are sold every year. The vegetable growers do not use pesticides or GMOs, relying on natural fertilizers, including seaweed found in the river and harvested by gardeners every morning.
During the walk, you will cross vast rice fields and quiet roads, far from the tourist trails. You will see the activities of the inhabitants through the villages of Hoi An.
Walk in Tra Que vegetable village and meet local people working in the garden.
A local farmer will teach you all about cultivation methods and how to protect developing vegetables from insects. You can join the farmers in gardening activities such as raking the ground, sowing, watering greens, transplanting, and tending greens.
Continue riding through paddy fields, Ba Le market, and kindergartens until reaching Van Lang fisherman village and Bay Mau coconut water forest. This area spans about 7 hectares, surrounded by mangrove forests, canals, and houses covered by coconut water leaves. It served as a refuge for people and local soldiers during the Vietnam War and is now famous for providing the most seafood products.
You will be warmly welcomed at Mr. Han’s home – a 3-generation family – where you'll taste green tea and stroll through the village. You will row a basket boat with skillful locals and discover their traditional fishery techniques in the water coconut forest.
Return to Mr. Han’s family to enjoy a foot bath with medicinal herbs, a traditional therapeutic practice, before preparing lunch with a local family. Lunch will feature many local delicacies, such as Tam Huu spring rolls, Banh Xeo local pancakes, grilled fish in banana leaf, and others. After lunch, enjoy free time and take a short rest before returning to your hotel around 3:30 PM by car. End of services.
