Beginning early in the morning, travel to Aluoi to explore the A Shau Valley, a key strategic area during the Vietnam War. This day tour takes you through western Hue to delve into this significant battleground, where numerous intense conflicts occurred. The trip highlights the A Shau Special Forces Camp and the notorious Hamburger Hill, site of one of the bloodiest confrontations between the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne and the NVA troops in the Vietnam War. You'll also have the opportunity to hike the hill, observe the remnants of the battle, and explore a tunnel used by the North Vietnamese Army before returning to town.

Visit Hamburger Hill in A Luoi Rural District of Thua Thien Hue Province

08:00: Meet your private guide in the hotel lobby and travel via National Highway 49 to A Luoi District by private car (approximately 80km each way, with an estimated drive time of 2 hours and 15 minutes). Along the journey, enjoy views of the scenic countryside inhabited by the Co Tu and Ta Oi ethnic minorities.
Upon arriving in A Luoi, the car will take a smaller road to Hamburger Hill, the site of a significant battle in May 1969 between U.S. forces and the North Vietnamese Army over a 900-meter-high mountain.
From the base of the mountain, start a trekking excursion through the forest to reach the summit. Take in the panoramic views of the valley, the former airport, and the surrounding landscapes.
After descending, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit a Ta Oi ethnic minority village, known for its traditional stilt houses that accommodate multiple families from the same clan. Explore the village to gain insight into the local way of life, including their traditional homes, clothing, crafts, and culinary delights.
Bid farewell to A Luoi and return to Hue.
You will be dropped off at your hotel in Hue. End of services.
