This 8-day tour offers an incredible journey through the tranquil beauty of Laos, starting in the UNESCO-listed town of Luang Prabang, moving to the picturesque karst hills of Vang Vieng, and concluding in the laid-back capital of Vientiane. Your adventure begins in Luang Prabang, where you'll explore famous sites such as Wat Xiengthong, the Royal Palace Museum, Pak Ou Caves, and Kuang Si Waterfall. Next, you'll soak in the lush atmosphere of Vang Vieng along the Nam Song River before heading to Vientiane. In the capital, you'll enjoy a half-day tour of iconic landmarks that fill the Lao people with pride, including the That Luang monument and the Victory Monument.

Nestled in northern Laos at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, this sacred city is renowned for its golden-roofed wats, saffron-robed monks, and traces of French colonial architecture.
  • Upon your arrival at Luang Prabang airport, our driver and guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel, where you can check in and relax. At the scheduled time, our guide and driver will pick you up for a welcoming dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, you’ll return to your hotel. You can then choose to explore the vibrant Night Market or unwind at the hotel.

  • An optional early start offers a fantastic chance to participate in the daily morning alms-giving ceremony for saffron-clad monks. This tradition is unique to Laos, as it is the only Buddhist nation that still maintains this practice. Afterward, visit local fresh markets before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
  • This morning, you'll visit Wat Visoun, home to the impressive Thad Makmo stupa, and then continue to Wat Aham. Next, explore the most photographed temple, Wat Xiengthong, situated at the end of the peninsula near the confluence of the Mekong and Khan Rivers.
  • In the afternoon, head to the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, and visit Wat Mai, known for its stunning golden bas-reliefs. During Pimai, the Lao New Year, the Prabang, typically housed in the Royal Palace Museum, is displayed to the public in this temple.

  • This morning, you’ll be driven to the Elephant Village, dedicated to the protection and rehabilitation of elephants in Laos. Upon arrival, you’ll meet the camp manager and learn about the efforts of the dedicated staff and volunteers in caring for the elephants, allowing you to engage in various activities with these magnificent animals.
  • In the afternoon, you'll venture to the outskirts of Luang Prabang, passing through lush rice paddies and farms. You’ll stop to visit several H’mong and Lao Loum villages, where your guide will introduce you to the locals, providing a great opportunity to participate in their daily activities, such as cotton spinning, weaving, rice harvesting, and tending to vegetable farms.
  • Once you reach Kuang Si Waterfall, enjoy a short walk along the trails to visit the bear rescue center. Take in the breathtaking views of the main waterfall and the surrounding orchids, as the falls cascade over multiple tiers into cool turquoise pools. Afterward, you'll drive back to Luang Prabang.

  • You'll also see Vientiane's Victory Monument, reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe. This monument was constructed after the Indochina wars with funds believed to have been intended for a new airport runway, leading departing Americans to call it the "vertical runway."
