8:00 AM: Pick up at your hotel and head out to Ninh Binh (2-hour drive). Enjoy the beautiful roadside scenery along the way. Upon arriving in Ninh Binh city, first visit Hoa Lu – the ancient Royal Capital of Vietnam. Explore the two temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, admiring their unique ancient architecture.
Continue to Tam Coc and have lunch at a charming restaurant offering many local delicacies. After lunch, board a small sampan to visit Tam Coc, which literally means “three caves” (2.5-hour boat trip). With Halong Bay-like views of majestic limestone cliffs and mysterious caves, as well as a countryside landscape featuring peaceful streams, rice paddies, and deserted green fields, Tam Coc has it all. You will feel the fresh air and peaceful moments, offering excellent opportunities for photography to capture special moments and scenery.
We will also cycle to Bich Dong Pagoda nearby and climb up the mountain for a wonderful panoramic view of Bich Dong and Tam Coc. Return to Hanoi in the late afternoon.
